NY Giant, Justin Tuck takes a time-out for reading

untitledJust last week Justin Tuck, Defensive End for the NY Giants gave Scholastic a visit. As most of you know, Justin and his wife Lauren are huge advocates for education and reading. Justin and Lauren feel so passionately about education that they developed Tuck’s R.U.S.H. for Literacy to serve the children.

Tuck’s R.U.S.H. for Literacy encourages children to READ, UNDERSTAND, SUCCEED, and HOPE as they continue to nurture literacy in their lives. This initiative is committed to raising funds to donate books and other reading materials to enrich youth in the communities the Tucks call home.

During his visit to Scholastic Headquarters I was lucky enough to sit down and talk with Justin about the importance of reading and following your dreams. When reflecting on his own path and childhood in Alabama, Justin encourages all children to ““be the first, dare to be different and don’t let anyone tell you that you can’t do something.”
